Since when did statelines become taxonomic units? The same snake species can and do occur across statelines and even across the continent in some instances. I do choose not to acknowledge subspecies and my reason for doing so are based on sound biology. I doubt you can say the same for your support of subspecies. Your claims on this forum demonstrate a clear lack of information in many instances. You claimed earlier that hobbyiest were more familiar with Texas herp populations than biologists and implied that no population work is being done with them. This is complete hog wash. There are probably more than a hundred biologists currently working with population dynamics of Texas herps right now. Just because you don't read about it in Reptile Hobbyiest doesn't mean that they don't exist. You also claimed that in NJ a poacher knew more about bog turtles than any biologists in the state. Once again more hog wash from you. One only needs to look at the work Mr. Zappolorti and Mr. Reinhardt have accumulated for over thirty years to see you are full of it. All too often unfounded claims such as these are repeated again and again. By posting such misinformation you are doing far more harm than good. Who are you to tell me not to post here? I at least can back what I say with some shred of scientific basis or historical reality.
