Collecting one individual of an endangered species is raping. Knowing where populations are located is indeed very useful but can hardly be considered "knowing more" about the turtles than anybody else. I think Zappalorti has made some very important contirbutions to the herpetofauna of NJ. Why should anybody think less of me because of this. I would contend that Carl Lieb and Jerry Johnson are more knowledgeable about Texas herps and I have seen there work to prove it. What has John contributed.
