I am very disappointed to see this thread. I did not bother to say it needs to be thawed because I thought that was a no brainer. It is frozen for ease of feeding & storage and also to kill parasites.
I think if you are unsure about feeding thawed or frozen food to your reptile it might not be such a great idea to get one. Maybe start with a gecko.

BTW- You can feed frozen food to a reptile, monitor people do it all the time. This is an "advanced" keepers thing and I do not think people here should be doing it.
