Now, I can understand if perhaps someone had hundreds of large monitors to care for daily and didn't want to wait all day for blocks of compressed frozen rodents to thaw. In this case, he or she could just chop the blocks up or break apart the rats and put the stuff into the bowls early in the morning so it would have time to start thawing. But if the monitor ate it immediately, that would really waste a lot of basking heat to thaw out the mice-pops in the lizard's belly.
Regarding the post about lizards eating frozen pinkies, what is so hard about defrosting a pinky or pinkies in warm water? It takes me just a few minutes. Again, why would anyone want to feed a reptile frozen food? Without going into a natural vs. captive debate, where does ice fit in to an active reptile's habitat?
I wonder if Bert ever feeds his collection of tegus frozen food? Maybe he will post a reply?
