A lot of the older books on iguanas have information which is totally incorrect and not at all healthy for your iguana. You need to read some of the newer books, with newer information, or better yet, just go to the best iguana sites on the net.
First, stop feeding your green iguanas chicken, because they cannot have any meat or animal protein whatsoever. Not even a tiny bit. NONE. Just feed your iguana 80% Collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens etc. 15% peas, green beans, squash, carrots etc. 5% fruits or all types except citrus, as citrus is not good for your ig.
Please follow this diet very closely and also supplement it with calcium powder if possible. Iguanas need food which is as close to a ratio of 2parts calcium, one part phosphorous, and the powder does help, especially in young igs. Please stop feeding your igs meat, and check out these sites i've listed, since they will tell you everything you need to know and more.
