Dear Travis

I agree with you.I offer this things only as a part of their diet.I forgot to tell you that I also give them greens everyday. So rice, noodles, broccoli, peas, corn are the dessert, not the main dish.

Of course I never took them to the vet to make a blood test! Why should I ?Why make my igs suffer and get stressed if they are not sick, if they eat as...very healthy igs!I dont take my kids to a doctor to make blood tests unless they are sick also!

When a ig is sick you can see by the color of his skin or by the expression of his eyes. They also stop eating and get lethargic.

How do I know that? Because a friend of mine had a female, a very healthy and beautiful female that he wanted to mate. The male bit the female very badly. She stopped eating and died after 15 days.I went to his house to visit her and I could see, looking at her eyes, she was very sick.I suppose the male's teeth reached some important internal organ. We could not see anything from the exterior but she was very tired and by the color of her tongue bloodless.

: Rice ,noodles ,cauliflower ,broccoli and corn are not good sources of the things iguanas NEED to live a long healthy life . This things as a SMALL part of a diet are fine they offer nothing much in the way of promoting health . In fact they contain things that in high enough amounts can cause harm .

: You continue to say how healthy your animals are . When was the last time you had blood work done or saw a vet ? Iguanas RARELY show signs of problems until it is to late . In addition to that while they may " Look healthy " now the point is not to simply make them look healthy . The point of a captive environment is to give them better then they are able to get for themselves . This is why captive animals kept in the proper environment tend to live so much longer then in the wild .

: All that said If you continue to feed your animals this diet instead of a diet based on greens your iguanas will not be healthy long ..

: Travis
