: I would say , all the russian torts would be looking for new shells..................who cares........i would worry about the humans and the rest of the world.

a compassionate being would care!!! as much as i hate capturing wild caught animals... i think what would be best is to capture as many torts and other animals as possible and bring them someplace further away where they can live outdoors naturally... if the war never happens, some can be brought back... if it does, well they can be introduced to captivity. Of course i doubt there is anyone who is willing to spend so much money on it. but if not, soon the price of a russian tort can be more than the cost of an aldabra!!! most of the ones you find are wild caught, it is rare to find a cb russian, and all the ones i've seen are pricey... but if there are no more wild caughts, the price of a captive bred will sky rocket due to the demand and limited supply! hmm maybe i should go get some russians and start breeding! i'll be a millionare! j/k... but seriously, if we could get as many specimins of each species as possible... then maybe we could save someting from extinction.
