Something all should know on uvb bulbs

I think many people over react how much uvb bulbs put out. I was talking with a rep. that sells reptile products, and she was discussing the t-rex uvbheats. First off the reptisun 5.0 gives off 5.0 microwatts/centimeter squared, where as the uvbheats give off 50. Thats some difference. But what is more astonishing is that over the equator at noon the sun gives 250. In nice smoggy Chicago it registers about 100. Now consider the fact that the reptisun is only good for 6 months, and the uvbheats are good for a year, and the sun is good for life. Man that natural light thing just sounds so nice. How much can those little bulbs really do. What I am interested in is someones testimonial that they took an ig that was greatly cared for without uvb, and then kept all conditions the same except for the addition of the uvb, and had better luck with the uvb.
