Yes, iguanas may survive without uv, but compare 2 iguanas, one kept with uv, one without. Include proper care, housing, food etc. And you will see for yourself. The one with uv will thrive, whereas the one without will simply 'survive'. Please keep your heartless experiments out of your basement, what exactly are you trying to prove aside from suffering?
Your personal experience of two does not prove thousands of others wrong.
