No, they may not produce as much UVB as the sun but, then again, it IS radiation and until people decide to stop keeping wild animals such as iguanas, bearded dragons, water dragons, etc. as "pets" there will always be a need for some form of UV producing unit.

You might want to do some more research on your own in order to get your numbers and hypotheses straight. Otherwise, you may not be able to tell which are viable testimonials and which are carp.
