This is not true . I took in an iguana almost 10 years ago with the onset of mbd he was kept in the basement with a 60 watt bulb and no uv for four years . I adopted him out to a friend of mine in Bangor who still has him and he is very healty at 15 .

It is simply better for them to have it then not .
