Why do people leave forums ?

I posted this because I finally got fed up with the monitor forum, which
like this one at times gets filled with overzealous opinions from
immature people

Now, I am not talking just about kids, but people that act like kids. Kinda
like the school yard bully, or, MR. know it all.

I have been at these forums for over a year and I have seen and read a lot of
stuff, which if it wasn't for my thick skin, I would have left a long time ago.

Most of the adults that I know that are true herpetologists and bio people don't
bothwr going to these forums, for the same reasons. They make some informed, real
life statements, and then get slammed and ridiculed by some bunch of teens or fanatics.

Anyway, I am definitely not posting as much, and, I am certainly cutting back on any
reponses. I get enough negativity and insults from people that at least have the maturity
to do it in person.

Some of you may want to keep this diatribe in mind the next time you notice that new people
don't come back and some old ones just kind of fade away.
