The post where he simply asked for advice about his overweight sav. There were a few that did simply just that, but there were a couple that basically told him he must be taking horrible care of his moniter.

"Use common sense. No animal (ok..maybe snakes) should have it's belly scraping the ground when it walks. Savs are naturally *stocky*, not fat. There should be a visible fold of skin running along the side of the trunk. They can be a little fatter, but what you are describing is obese. Monitors get fat because of poor husbandry. I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but there is no way to sugar coat it. I would review my feeding practices and temps if I were you.
Most vets have only seen overweight monitors. I would think they wouldn't have a proper frame of reference.

Good luck,"

This would have been a great response except for the part where he puts down the writer. He offers no solutions to the problem, only makes his trite remark and then gives vague info about how to correct the problem. Obviously the writer knows his sav is overweight or he wouldn't be asking how to solve the problem. Heck, I even saw a post that told the guy to "fix yer husbandry before the poor thing dies". These are the kind of responses that could be done without. All they succeed in doing is alienating the writer and they offer no help what-so-ever. These are not part of a "heated discussion" that makes people think, but rather an insult to a person trying to get some help.
