: I posted this because I finally got fed up with the monitor forum, which : like this one at times gets filled with overzealous opinions from
immature people.

I went and took a look at the monitor forum to see what you were referring to. It appears to me that you are pouting. Yes sir, pouting. Because someone didn't give you an answer that you wanted to hear. BTW, *pouting* can be a sign of immaturity.

: Now, I am not talking just about kids, but people that act like kids. Kinda like the school yard bully, or, MR. know it all.

Everyone has their moments and that includes you.

: I have been at these forums for over a year and I have seen and read a lot of : stuff, which if it wasn't for my thick skin, I would have left a long time ago.

People need to not take things so personally. This is a forum. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, including your's.

: Most of the adults that I know that are true herpetologists and bio people don't : bothwr going to these forums, for the same reasons. They make some informed, real life statements, and then get slammed and ridiculed by some bunch of teens or fanatics.

Hmmm....I've met some so called "experts" in the field of herpetology and they too can be wrong, just like you or I.

: Anyway, I am definitely not posting as much, and, I am certainly cutting back on any reponses. I get enough negativity and insults from people that at least have the maturity to do it in person.

Well, if you'd like to let the people know where you live, maybe they an come by and discuss "differences" with you in person? Unfortunately, this isn't going to happen. Since they can't "in person" and you are posting to a FORUM, they respond on the forum. Maybe you need to toughen up your skin a tad bit more?

: Some of you may want to keep this diatribe in mind the next time you notice that new people
don't come back and some old ones just kind of fade away.

This could be why some people leave, but not all. Some people are still out there "lurking", others develop other interests or become comfortable with the reptiles so that a daily trip to the forums is no longer necessary.

And believe it or not, sometimes these "heated" discussions get people thinking about their views. No one, and I repeat, no one is correct 100% of the time. Me and you included.

BTW, why didn't you post your message over at the monitor forum where it would have been more appropriate. Surfed through this forum and can't see a problem with any of the more recent posts.

Good luck and hope you pitty party ends soon.
