I agree with Charles. Snakes seem to become familiar with at least your scent and/or your particular approach to handling them. My snakes (ratsnakes) are only a year or two old and already extremely easy to handle. Keep doing your research to find out which species will best suit you. I would think that a member of the ratsnake family might be a good fit, but I am admittedly biased! Do check out both the ratsnake and the cornsnake forums for pics and info. : As for size? Rosy boas, balls and some kings will fall into that size catagory. I am sure others will have more suggestions. As for do they know you, I fully believe they do... I am not attatching human personality but through my experience with my snakes I believe that they do come to know who their handlers are. As for taming, with handling they indeed do.
