Not wanting to start a riot here and get all the "elitists" in a huff but I keep Spilotes as well as Black Tailed and Unicolored Cribos. All were out today (which is a rare event for the Cribos) and it struck me as to just how similar the two species are.
Obviously both get huge, eat anything, and are stunning to the eye. Now I'm talking about tame Spilotes here - not the radical and emaciated wc specimens we've all seen from time to time. These are 9', glossy black w/bright yellow, and as big around as any Indigo. I was just wondering why so few hobbyists keep Spilotes? If one is into huge Colubrids then they seem to be a natural progression - of course the demand for adult mice or small rats/chickens would probably tax all but the largest rodent colony or budget. Just curious I guess - Bill
