: Not wanting to start a riot here and get all the "elitists" in a huff but I keep Spilotes as well as Black Tailed and Unicolored Cribos. All were out today (which is a rare event for the Cribos) and it struck me as to just how similar the two species are.
: Obviously both get huge, eat anything, and are stunning to the eye. Now I'm talking about tame Spilotes here - not the radical and emaciated wc specimens we've all seen from time to time. These are 9', glossy black w/bright yellow, and as big around as any Indigo. I was just wondering why so few hobbyists keep Spilotes? If one is into huge Colubrids then they seem to be a natural progression - of course the demand for adult mice or small rats/chickens would probably tax all but the largest rodent colony or budget. Just curious I guess - Bill
