As this is the Indigo Forum I'll keep it brief. Spilotes are also known as Tiger Rat Snakes. They range from Brazil through Central America up into S. Mexico.
The can get up to 10' and are usually black w/large yellow bands - some have only 10-20% banding while others can be almost solid yellow. There are a few populations that are orange instead of yellow- I've seen them but can't get a locality on them. As the previous respondent said imports are very mean - bluffing and striking at any intrusion - but tame ones are an awsome spectacle! They eat anything that moves!
They make a nice complement to the giant Colubrid fancier. Bill
