: As this is the Indigo Forum I'll keep it brief. Spilotes are also known as Tiger Rat Snakes. They range from Brazil through Central America up into S. Mexico.
: The can get up to 10' and are usually black w/large yellow bands - some have only 10-20% banding while others can be almost solid yellow. There are a few populations that are orange instead of yellow- I've seen them but can't get a locality on them. As the previous respondent said imports are very mean - bluffing and striking at any intrusion - but tame ones are an awsome spectacle! They eat anything that moves!
