Yes, Terry, I need to make a backcross (or two) to see what pops out. I'd do that anyway to "fix" the male's coloration in my generic (that's what I call 'em) Block line-can't call 'em anything else.
And to clarify on the origins of the pair--the pair are from the same owner--a breeder in Phoenix I blieve was what Adam told me (but that breeder got them from TWO diefferent sources). Not convenient, but what was available whne the guy asked Adam to come up and buy him out. When Adam saw the bairdi pair, he didn't care about ANY of the other snakes the guy was offering.
There isn't anything wrong with a generic line Terry. Keep 'em as such and sell thm as such. I'm keeping my locale specific lines locale specific, but specimens from all locales (including Mexican bairdi) will be thrown into the generic line. That line should be variable and fun and gorgeous.
And the founder pair MAY be 100% Texas bairdi, but I don't KNOW that and can't sell them as such because no one, even Adam, knows for sure.
