Can you really tell if your pet iguana is blind?
- Or going blind?
Probably not.
Artificial lighting is extremely dangerous to the health of your pets. Be careful when you use any type of lighting - for illumination or even for warmth.
Consider how you'd feel if you were to stare at the sun - for even a small amount of time. Direct lighting can cause permanent damage to the eyesight of reptiles and other pets - and man cannot discern the difference. Your pet may be going blind and relying on the sense of smell to find his way around.
A blind animal can still discern shapes and shadows, and will focus his eyes on specific objects and people. Don't let that comfort you!!
Blindness is a painful condition.
Please, please!!
Only light no more than 1/4 of your setup. Keep the rest of it OUT of direct lighting. Protect your pet's eyes - as well as his skin.
