Sorry if I duplicate anything already stated. There is evidence (Green Iguana:The Ultimate Owner's Manual, I believe) that iguanas can actually see in the ultraviolet spectrum. Such being the case, an animal with such specialized sight should have no risk of blindness from UV exposure whether natural or artificial. Also, take into account that the most powerful artificial UV sources currently available to the general public produces less than 50% of the UV produced naturally by the sun. Taking everything I've read on the topic of UV producing bulbs into consideration, I'm no more concerned that any animals will go blind than I am of "harmful exposure" to these bulbs personally.
