Best beginner snake?

Okay, let me just say that I am only interested in the thought of getting something in the far far future, and also when I say "beginner" I mean first hot/venomoid snake. I am not a beginner to snakes in general.

I have read a bit about how copperheads can be good beginners.
I however would be more interested in coral snakes. Are they good or not? Any other snakes that would be good?
