Your age? Your State? Its laws towards venomous?
With that asked...
Ok....someone once said (I forget who)..."buy a wild caught E.Coachwhip and everytime you get bitten (doing activites such as feeding, cleaning, etc...general stuff) put a post-it on the cage and write on it..."I could be dead" after a year decide if you want to get a venomous snake...
nonetheless....copperheads are good beginners, even pygmys are ok..If your just going to dive into it..someone might as well lead you in the right direction...or end up like a guy I know who thought "those sluggish puff adders look like a good snake, their pretty cheap too". I tried to talk him out of it for weeks...but needless to say it didnt work.
He is gladly and thankfully only missing a pinkie ande half of his ring finger at this point...not to say that couldnt happen with a copperhead or pygmy...
I'm sure some others could give you better info...thats just how I see it..and have seen it...

:Okay, let me just say that I am only interested in the thought of getting something in the far far future, and also when I say "beginner" I mean first hot/venomoid snake. I am not a beginner to snakes in general.
:I have read a bit about how copperheads can be good beginners.
:I however would be more interested in coral snakes. Are they good or not? Any other snakes that would be good?
:PLEASE don't flame me for this question.
