As a service to the herpetological community, The Center for North American Herpetology has made available online, its list of Standard Common and Current Scientific Names for North American Amphibians and Reptiles since 1995.
The list is annotated with citations and explanatory paragraphs for each taxon in which taxonomic changes have been published.
This series has been the standard in herpetology for over 20 years.
