It's just wonderful that a list of common names for Mexican herps has been established. However, many Mexican common names are based on Indian words (see Solcuate, Cincuate, etc) and while they may be used extensively within Mexico, they may be anathema to some groups because of the fact that the particular name in question may not have a base in the local ethnicity. So, there may be many names in Mexico rather than just the one assigned by Liner as THE common name. If you just look at Campbell and Lamar, Venomous Reptiles of Latin America, you may get an idea of the diversity of names used for one common animal.
