The standard for North America for the last 20 years has NOT been the CNAH. It has been the SSAR's publication of the same (or very similar) name. See below.
The newest edition dated November, 2000, was edited by John J. Moriarty and the various committees were led by experts in their fields. The overall committee was chaired by Brian Crother. Therein lies the great difference between previous editions which were edited by Joe Collins who was not chosen to edit this one. And therein lies the genesis of the CNAH and their competing list of names.
