Hi, just got a gorgeous crested gecko I have a few questions

I got him at the white plains show from JLbreeders. Very nice people!
They gave him to me in a kind of big plastic jar which is 6 inches in diameter and about 10 inches high. I was told that this would be fine for him until hes almost adult, is this right?
I was also told to feed him baby food (turkey to be exact) So I bought two small turkey jars and a green pea one(just picked it for variety). Is this good enough for him as a staple diet?
Im gonna mix in some herptivite every now too.
Ill get him anything else he needs except crickets I hate crickets!

P.S. Could I buy him any type of baby food or does it matter which kind it is, I dont mean brand I mean like(green beans, turkey, peach, etc..) Which should I use as staple and which should I mix in for variety?
