:Check my dictionary for what? Autopsy is derived from the Greek work for to see with one's own eyes. Necropsy from the Greek for to look at death. Medically autopsies are done on dead human bodies while necropsies are none on dead animal bodies. Take your dead snake, dog, worm, or gorilla to the vet. He'll do a necropsy.

Hi Mike,
First off whatever the words or derived from, their meanings are examination of a corpse. In fact I've have had 3 different vets over the years tell me that I could bring my dead snakes in for (they did not say necropsy) an autopsy. But hey, they could be wrong. They're just doctors.
