Check my dictionary for what? Autopsy is derived from the Greek work for to see with one's own eyes. Necropsy from the Greek for to look at death. Medically autopsies are done on dead human bodies while necropsies are none on dead animal bodies. Take your dead snake, dog, worm, or gorilla to the vet. He'll do a necropsy.
