Geez, there's a sucker born every minute. I need some help. I walked into the local drug store today to find a ten gallon aquarium next to the 6 fish tanks, and in this new tank were half a dozen teensy(under 6 inches not counting the tail) baby iguana. They were all surprisingly robust looking except one, which I thought was dead. Skin and bones pretty much describes it. The teenager that works there picked it up and it blinked once, then put it's head back down. Now I have an iguana, but it hasn't had a sick day in the three years I've had it. He's always been a big, very healthy iggy, nothing like this thing. I told the owner of the store that no one was gonna pay him the $22.95 for it, and suggested he give it to me, which, much to my surprise, he did! I'd really like to save it if possible, but have never in my life had to force feed a baby iguana. The local vet is gone for a week, and I'm wondering what the heck to mix up for it to eat since it's so out of it. Does anyone out there have a formula for a good baby iggy food I can syringe into it if I have to? It isn't looking too promising, but I'd like to at least try. He's in his own cage, as close to the undertank heater as he can get, and under the basking light too, and the water tray I gave him is VERY shallow since he's small and weak. He has some strawberry, some dandelion greens, some TRex food, and I don't see much interest in any of it. When I picked him up he looked me straight in the eye but didn't try to escape, no playing dead, and when I went to put him down he seemed to prefer to stay on my hand where he was. Probably the body heat. I couldn't decide if he was curious and docile, or too far gone to care. I've never had to deal with a sick iguana, what would you advise I do for this little guy?
