(1st ... don't "force" ... "coax" ...)
i'd use 'pedialyte' or 'infalyte' and a jar of baby food ... maybe a jar of mixed vegies ... get an oral syringe (no needle) and thin the baby food down a bit ... gently open it's mouth just a bit and put a drop on it's tongue ... give it a little bit to taste, swallow, etc ... try a few more drops ... tuck him back in bed ... in a few hours, give him a few drops of just infalyte ... in a few more hours, a few drops of food/infalyte ... etc ...

i'd worry the most about dehydration + stress the infalyte the first few days ... keep him warm and quiet and kiss him on the nose ...
