I took my recently rescued iguana to the vet friday for what i beleived was a resp infection and a serious of abcesses. he told me not to worry about the abcesses because they seemed to be going away naturally and were probably caused by the iguanas immune system being slowed do to the preivious owners poor care and as soon as it was givin healthy treatment the immune system kicked in so there was no reason to administer any form of antibotic other than topical for now........ But then he told me something ive never herd of before, i mentioned my iguana sneezes frequently and he told me its caused by a lack of humidity not a resp infection, in the low humidity they will expell salt from their nose in order to stay hydrated. Is this true? I was convinced this was more than the normal iguana sneeze but he assures me its normal.
