(this is aimed especially at those of you who have only been posting over the last 4 months).
Can you not attack every person with a question that is not 100% written the way you see fit??? Some of the people are right in that this forum has degenerated lately. I don't see the regulars as often(the people who have been here over a year or even since the beginning). Anyway, people get burned out and fresh blood is good... However, a lot of you like to jump on the bandwagon to bash someone, beating a dead horse for the most part. People come here for information, not to be judged. There is a nice clinical way to get your information across without being nasty. I have invited several people here that are extremely lacking in the knowledge of iguana care. Some of them I have convinced to stop feeding their ig dog food, but they have a long way to go. These newbies may show up from time to time without me ever knowing-- and then be bashed for saying something ignorant (which is guaranteed because they ARE). SO what is more important, helping spread the info in hopes that some will seep into their skulls, or feeling superior by berating them?
Please just try to put yourself in their shoes-- and I'm sure there was a time when you may have asked a stupid question or been misinformed. Would you have taken well to a harsh response, or would that make you bristle and become defensive???
I am sure I will receive some flack for this, but either way, I may not direct people to this site anymore (especially if it is going to negate any help I've previously given them by alienating them) You may say, "well who cares about a dumb@ss like that anyway!?" Well, you don't have to care about them, but I would hope you would care about the plight of their poor iguana-- because you aren't helping that creature at all...
