I do not want to single any one out because I think we all could be a little nicer at times. Also, I believe people should be told to go to the vet (although some aren't very nice in saying it). And, of course opinions should be expressed, but how about giving someone the benefit of the doubt?? (not aimed at you)

The following post disturbed me although there have been many others along this line.
When the person several posts below asked about what iguana gets the biggest, she is immediately questioned why without getting any answer back-- people assumed she had alterior motives. She gets defensive-- which is only natural-- wanting to prove she is not some idiot and brags about being a vet student (I might do the same in her shoes). Then she is blasted by many people on the forum and what did that accomplish? Somewhere in the posts, some info was exchanged, but she no longer wants to post here (nor am I sure she ever received the exact info she wanted). As I said before, I have sent many people here and if they are lurking around-- a string like that will make them fear ever writing! "Gosh, if they attacked someone for wanting to know the biggest, bluest iguana, I won't dare ask why my iguana is just laying around with swollen eyes!" (a case someone emailed me about recently)

Anyway, ALL of you are good people-- because you love iguanas!!! I just have seen this tone a lot more frequently lately and hope that things will change. I have had some great exchanges with many of the people who posted on that string in fact. And I have asked, and received helpful information from an indivual there (who I have butted heads with before as well)

I don't want to start any fights or offend anyone here-- then I would be doing exactly what I hate! I was just trying to maybe sway a few people into giving others the benefit of the doubt-- and to ease up on the inflammatory responses. I *think* we all want to achieve the same goal-- which is helping iguanas! ;-) My post has the potential to cause more arguing but I hope it is not the case. In good conscience, I had to say something or I would be a hypocrite (and certainly not helping the various newbies I've sent here)
