Well here we will have to agree to disagree because I find nothing wrong with the way she posed her question. She was looking for a fact and asked it in the iguana forum where people might know the answer. She did not have to explain why she wanted the fact, although I see nothing wrong with asking her out of curiousity(if you give her the answer at the same time).
As for the broken backed iguana, that post would have made me very angry as well. Still, I would have explained to them as nicely as I could (holding back my judgements) that they are responsible for the pet they own and MUST take it to the vet immediately so the vet can decide whether to fix him up or end his suffering. Doing nothing is not an option. We here love our iguanas and please try to understand that your question is posed in an upsetting manner. We will try to help you, but you must first help your iguana. Keep us posted and good luck. (end)
(something along those lines anyway) And hopefully this person would understand what iguana lovers feel and expect out of fellow owners. The point of taking it to the vet would hopefully be taken to heart.
Anyway, the two of us are quite a pair rambling on about this but it makes life interesting! My main point here is that some of the posts lately have not even been nearly as bad as the broken backed ig story you noted or the ones I receive at home-- so what is going to happen when and if these kind of people are looking for help? I, for one, still want to help them even if they are unworthy of iguana ownership! (well, help their ig anyway)
