He's about 10 inch but very thin ! And he have a very small head...pinkies are quite big...I was thinking about trout pieces ?

As for the identification, if the mother is a melanistic, she's almost entirely black with just some lighter scale around the belly. And from what i read, the baby melanistic arent black but they become with aging...
