Okay.
Box turtles don't live in water, they gointo shallow water to drink and wade around. But they don't live in water.
Please describe this creature to us in detail.
Color of skin and shell.
Are the feet webbed, does it have a domed shell?

Answer these questions quickly, we need to find out what you have,
A turtle or a tortoise.
How was it housed at the store?
Get it out of that cold water now, even if it is a type of aquatic turtle it would need heated water.
But we don't know it's an aquatic, so no water for now.Keep it in a room at room temperature, around 75 degrees at least.
