:I'm going to give my opinion again, and hopefully people aren't going to get too sick of me. If you read between the lines of what everybody says about pyramiding you will see a pattern. Rapid growth with inadequate calcium is the problem. Protein causes rapid growth...Higher temps speeds the metabolism and this causes rapid growth. And it is possible that two identical tortoises may have differing metabolic needs causing one to experience pyramiding and the other one not to.
