Rapid growth with inadequate calcium is the problem. Protein causes rapid growth...Higher temps speeds the metabolism and this causes rapid growth. And it is possible that two identical tortoises may have differing metabolic needs causing one to experience pyramiding and the other one not to.

I concur with your opinion 100%.

The "humidity" argument just does not make biological or scientific sense. If anyone has genuine data, or real evidence to the contrary - please do state your reasoning, e.g., how can ambient humidity (or lack thereof)directly or indirectly cause fibrous osteodystrophy?
