I didnt know these guys werent supposed to be in KY. We have them all over in SE Missouri as well. Everyone there calls them blue racers. :
Yep I saw a few last summer. One was at Bernheim forest. Saw one over by Hodgenville on a back road and some out on Ft Knox. I dont have any pics, I didnt have my digital camera when I saw them. I was in the pet store in Radcliff when a guy brings in a metal tool box. He says "Ive got some kind of snake in here, its bluish black and mean as hell" I immediately knew what he had before he got it out. It was a good sized one, around 4.5 - 5' long. Nice snake. He had caught it at a construction site he was working at. Asked me if I wanted it and I told him nope, just let it go where you found it. The lady in the pet store didnt want it either, I guess she knew how mean W/C racers can be. LOL
My father in law has some land that is mostly fields that is surrounded by woods, and I have seen a few black racers there, but no yellow bellies. Maybe this summer I can get one for ya.

:You got me going on the yellow belly racers in Ky. Their not supposed to occur here. Do you have any pics? I've seen probably 100's of southern blacks, and even northern blacks in eastern Ky, but never a yellow belly. I would be interested to hear more on this snake.
