I was herp hunting with Dwight one time and I saw him run down a nice sized adult [Kentucky] black racer in the middle of a road. That in itself was an amazing feat. Then he proceeded to pick it up and walk back to the car with it in hand and the snaked never hissed, bit, or even struck at him. Now I know in my heart of hearts that if I would have attempted that, I would have drawn back a bloody stump where my hand would have been. I've been torqued on by racers every time I have ever handed them I think.
