My 2.5 year old Eastern Indigo escaped Sunday night after I stupidly didn't close his cage completely. I keep him in a vision cage and the screw that holds the door track catches the door sometimes and it seem close. I think he made it into the ceiling of the basement trough a gap on the drywall around the window. I didn't know the gap was there. I figured out he was in the ceiling because the clear panel that is over one of the lights was laying on the floor. He must have crawled over it and knocked it out.
I hadn't seen or heard anything from him since Sunday. I left food out for him and he didn't take it. My fear was that he figured out how to get into the sump pump and into the piping the surounds the house. I was starting to accept that I would never see him again after looking everywhere in the house I could get to.
Tonight when I went to check on everyone in the snake room, there he was crawling back into his cage. Is that strange? It was like he had his fun and was ready to go home now. I was very happy to see him and he actually seemed happy to see me. Or he could have been saying feed me.
Has anyone seen something like this in their eastern indigos?
