Bill don’t be sorry this is good info. The bonemeal brand I use is in a 2:1 ratio (maybe it’s different in other brands?), which is recommended for reptiles. I was just mentioning birds to point out there is no need to worry about toxicity. However 2:1 is actually the same ratio recommended for birds. So it is good for either or. I never said anything about dusting crickets with the stuff, I def do not suggest that. By no means should it be substituted for normal reptile supplements. Maybe you misunderstood me. It’s just a means to provide egg laying females with extra calcium without worrying about excess D3. That is why I suggested it for Liz. Her crested is still needs to grow and she is already laying. So she could especially use it.
