i have read at a few web sites not to use baby food as a large portion of your igs diet. i use organic baby food when i am "tricking " petrie into eating foods he doesn`t really like. i don`t do it often now, but when i was feeding him the mk diet i did it almost daily because he would not touch his salad portion, only his leafy greens. i used to use the baby food to stick the salad to the underside of the leaves so that way when he went for the greens he would be forced to eat the salad as well. is there any problem with this? my thinking was of 2 possible reasons that baby food could be bad:
1. it is processed, so it could have preservatives and additive stuff
2. it may lose potency for some nutrients it contains because like the frozen foods it is stored for possibly long periods of time.
are these correct? in response to #1 i only use organic preservative free baby foods. for #2, i was not using it as a large portion of the diet, just enough to make the food stick to the leaves.... is this problematic? i don`t do it anymore. the only time i feed baby food now is when i have`nt made it to the store and i`m low on veggies i`ll mix a little in to make up for that.
i know i ask alot of questions like this, but for me to really abide by something i need to understand why. otherwise it is very difficult for me to see the point in something. i am a very thourough person i want to understand the reasons for things, it really helps me remember things as well. which is why i am posting all of these burning questions here! =)
