I rescued a male green iguana 11 years ago while in college, and we've had good and bad times together. He's bitten me bad enough for stitches, been to the vet several times for infections due to breeding season complications, but I'd never get rid of him!
He has not gone into breeding season color/behavior the last several years. His appetite is massive, and he defecates in the tub at least several times a week. He's essentially healthy as ever.
All this being said, I feel that I'm working with a geriatric individual now, and was wondering if anyone could recommend any necessary changes in care as this animal enters his golden years. Also, what is the lifespan of this species?
Thanks
