Please don't use the excuse you wanted a baby, and you wanted a young one for training. Because I adopted my iguana at age FOUR and at FOUR FEET and she is way tamer than I could have made her. She follows us around, sits on us, enjoys our company. All you have done is turned to the other side. Which is making problems worse. You didn't rescue him from the pet store, you made it possible for the pet store to have more room for MORE baby iguanas. ADULT IGUANAS ARE NOT TO
"BIG" to start training. They are NOT dogs and they DO NOT EVER GET TRAINED. They do seem that way but that is not it. So I guess you prefer tail whipping, crapping everywhere, and biting to an already tame, gentle iguana. Thats fine.

Of course you will write back saying blah blah blah but I am sick and tired of people not listening. IGUANAS FROM PET STORES ARE BASICALLY MURDER TO OTHER IGUANAS. So what if you will take care of this iguana, the one the pet store will get to replace him might not be so lucky. But you never thought of that. Don't you think the hard core iguana lovers on this board just about DIE everytime they see those cute tiny faces in the pet stores? Don't you think it takes us every single ounce of will power NOT to buy one? But we realize that it will make things WORSE for rescuers.

And I find it hard to believe you couldn't find a rescue near you. Sorry. They are everywhere because people keep buying iguanas from pet stores.

Marisa.

P.S. I don't want the "too harsh" messages. I am sorry folks but I am friggin sick of this. You poor rescuers are being stepped on everyday because young kids, and irresponsible adults want cute "trainable" baby iguanas.
