Well I hardly see how anyone can "attack" someone with their own opinion. EVen with words at all. If you believe in what you are doing or saying, then it shouldn't matter what ANYONE SAYS.

Its nice and dandy that you took her but that has nothing to do with the fact that this pet store wants more room for more iguanas that are smaller and "cuter" Its simple business. And being flip floppy doesn't help in my mind. If one iguana dies, because someone wouldn't give in and help that pet store make room for more iguanas, its horrible but if it works in the long run it has saved THOUSANDS. Because maybe THEN that pet store will say "hey, we can;t even GIVE these things away, forget it" Its SIMPLE BUSINESS.

I am looking at things in the long run. And taking iguanas from pet stores free or not does not get them to stop purchasing "cute" baby ones to replace them for SALE. And in the long run I want iguanas to never be in pet stores again. If right this second everyone STOPPED buying iguanas, even stoppped taking in "free" ones sick or not, I can assure you the owners won't be purchaseing more "cute" baby ones. If you think they will then you are assuming pet stores and other stores enjoy buying things that the public wont spend money on or even take for free. Uh. I don't think so.

You can also argue that I am fighting a losing battle with my opinions. Oh well. I believe in 100% NO PET STORE IGUANAS, and I will argue and fight for that until the day I die. One person CAN CHANGE THE WORLD as silly as that sounds.

And if like you said, taking in sick ones for free and losing money makes them "think twice" then why IS IT STILL HAPPENING AFTER YEARS of sick iguanas being "taken in" if it did make them think twice, then it would have happened in the early 80 or 90's when most people started rescueing. Even earlier. But its not working. And frankly if I am the only one in this world who believes in 100% NO PET STORE IGUANAS, then so be it.

Nuff said.
