:I mean COME ON just because he decided he didnt want an adult iguana dose NOT make him irresponsible. NOW if he comes back saying hes dumping this iguana in a year then yes. He pruchased the MV bulb, hes got an enclosure set up, he didnt intend to get an iguana that day but they gave it to me and he accepted it. He has done research and lets not go attacking someone for taking an iguana given to him, would you still be yelling if he was given this iguaan from someone off the street??? Yes it sucks what pet stores do to all animals NOT ALL BUT MOST PETSTORES. But yelling at a person who was given an iguana is not going to accomplish anything really.
:LOOK PLEASE PLEASE reread his post HE PAID NOTHING for this iguana. HE PURCHASE A MV bulb and they GAVE him the iguana. He did nothing more to support them than purchasing a BULB from them. NOW if hed have purchased the iguana id be right there with you but he was GIVEN this iguana. ANd YES he is allowed to WANT a baby,I personally started out wanting a baby but ended up walking out of a store with a 2 yr old abuse case on my head. Also some areas there are hard to get a rescue group I didnt have the net for a long time and before that couldnt find ANY reptile rescues in my area and not for lack of trying. YES this person could have adopted, yes this person could have went for an older iguana but he wanted a baby and he DID NOT PAY this petstore for the iguana. THEY handed it to him and basically said HERE take it.
:
: Please don't use the excuse you wanted a baby, and you wanted a young one for training. Because I adopted my iguana at age FOUR and at FOUR FEET and she is way tamer than I could have made her. She follows us around, sits on us, enjoys our company. All you have done is turned to the other side. Which is making problems worse. You didn't rescue him from the pet store, you made it possible for the pet store to have more room for MORE baby iguanas. ADULT IGUANAS ARE NOT TO
: : "BIG" to start training. They are NOT dogs and they DO NOT EVER GET TRAINED. They do seem that way but that is not it. So I guess you prefer tail whipping, crapping everywhere, and biting to an already tame, gentle iguana. Thats fine.
: : Of course you will write back saying blah blah blah but I am sick and tired of people not listening. IGUANAS FROM PET STORES ARE BASICALLY MURDER TO OTHER IGUANAS. So what if you will take care of this iguana, the one the pet store will get to replace him might not be so lucky. But you never thought of that. Don't you think the hard core iguana lovers on this board just about DIE everytime they see those cute tiny faces in the pet stores? Don't you think it takes us every single ounce of will power NOT to buy one? But we realize that it will make things WORSE for rescuers.
: : And I find it hard to believe you couldn't find a rescue near you. Sorry. They are everywhere because people keep buying iguanas from pet stores.
: : Marisa.
: : P.S. I don't want the "too harsh" messages. I am sorry folks but I am friggin sick of this. You poor rescuers are being stepped on everyday because young kids, and irresponsible adults want cute "trainable" baby iguanas.
