There are no ifs, ands or buts about it, the iguana needs to see a vet. Since you don't seem to have one, I've posted the link for the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. They list the vets by state. As for taking him to the vet, place a human heating pad under a blanket or towel, warm it up and then place it in the carrier. That should keep him warm enough in the car until you get to the vet. You can heat the pad up again before you leave the office.
I've said it before and I will say it again, with the blessing of ARAV I might add, there is no replacement for quality vet care. There is no way to properly diagnose any animal without the benefit of a physical examination. Anyone out here in cyberspace who says they can diagnose and cure an animal of what is ailing him is full of it. Sure, we can all make guesses as to what may be wrong but I wouldn't trust a guessed diagnosis for my animal anymore that I would trust a guessed diagnosis for myself. No self respecting qualified vet would venture a guessed diagnosis over the Internet without seeing the animal, so I don't understand why anyone would listen to someone who is not a vet under the same circumstances.
Sorry about the rant ..... it's not directed at anyone in particular. I'm just one of those people who feel very strongly that vet care is important for all companion animals.
